I'll never get over your piece about Apple Cider Donuts. How did the writing of that come about?
Oh, I think Alex Balk was talking in Awl slack about how he thought apple cider donuts were just okay instead of great, which is an insane opinion. So I wanted to write about how, actually, they’re great — NOT just okay. Most of my pieces are just a single thought and then 800 words of vamping.
