What have you worked on in 2019 that you're most proud of?

Aesthetical Relations, the book of essays and whatnots named after my talk show. For all my fretting and dilly-dallying, there's some real moments in this little book and even though I'm scared as shit I'm proud to be putting something so personal out into the world. I'm also stupid proud of Two Pink Doors, the series of short films our Monday Night Crew devised for FX—I don't know when they'll be out but everyone who worked on them in post said they've never seen anything like it on TV.

Do you have a favorite L.A. summertime activity you'd recommend to people?

Breaking into hotel pools, long drives in a convertible while crying, staying in for the night—not necessarily in that order.

What can people expect from your reading?

I don't know! I think I'm going to read some shorter pieces from the book, some not-funny ones, as a lark. I hardly ever do readings and I only perform as a comedian, so engaging an audience with something other than humor is sort of terrifying and intriguing to me.
